Bonzo-Art Leads Community ‘Colouring In’ Project

February 2023

Rachel Marshall’s painted ‘I Saw Three Ships’ installation at the phone boxes has been much admired. The Trust’s pARTicipate volunteers have now worked with Rachel to make a complementary installation. Trust members, and friends and family, are warmly invited to contribute to the collective colouring-in community project.

Rachel (aka Bonzo-Art) has created a unique black and white interpretation of her 3-d paintings, including an RNLI lifeboat,  to be coloured in. People seem to be loving it. Large copies of Rachel’s design are stapled up along with with felt tip pins and crayons. Smaller copies of the design are available  to take away. These are all being snapped up, and more people are adding their own bit of colour to the large images. Thanks to North Berwick Trust support, this project is free of charge.

Join in! Colouring in is very relaxing and reduces stress, and there’s plenty of choice of colours to inspire you.

Young people have also been selecting a colour to write their name and - in some cases - a message, or ‘from Tranent’ so it’s good to see young people taking part.

This follows the  ‘Memory Inscriptions’ project that proved popular during the pandemic as  another activity that people could do individually, as part of a collective project.
